Monique Ilboudo
Monique Ilboudo (Burkina Faso) is a Burkinabè feminist author and activist with over 30 years of experience in the feminist space. Plagued by the disparities she saw in her upbringing between herself and her brothers she began to question gender stereotypes early on in her life. This led her to beginning to write with her first short story titled La fugue de Koumbou that tells the story of a young girl from a village who flees forced marriage to take refuge with her uncle in the city.
