Arlana Shikongo


Arlana Shikongo (Namibia) is a journalist and communications specialist based in Windhoek, Namibia. Her education and work have spanned topics such as human rights, LGBTIQ+ rights, feminism and social justice, and she is involved in both the creative professional industries and activism/advocacy spaces. She is currently the communications officer at Pan Africa ILGA – the African regional organisation of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association. Previously, she has worked with Sister Namibia – a feminist, nonpartisan NGO that advocates for women’s rights and engages in activities that promote full gender equality; and was a founding member of Namibia’s Slut Shame Movement – a grassroots initiative focusing on empowering women and girls while promoting sexual and reproductive health rights and fighting rape culture.
